So enamored 🥰 with this waterfall fountain I might have almost missed if I hadn’t turned right and took time to see its details.
But that’s how life is. If you don’t bother to veer from a routined path or take an alternate route – you won’t know what is waiting for you on the other side. Offering a memorable and exciting yet sometimes nerve-wracking experience.
It pays to be observant and be curious because curiosity is what will only drive your performance and your thinking. Curiosity is what fuels my ability even to know what my capabilities are…testing out new areas or projects, methods or industries even.
🚗 Ever drive past a place and spot a neat photo op location 🎯 that teaches you about self nurturing?
🙋🏾♀️Well I did and it was nearby my home. Such a bright orangy flower bed arranged so neatly, which you could imagine takes time to create and maintain just like you and me.
I’m not perfect all the time but the more I work on nurturing and ridding the things that would only stunt my growth I blossom into my true intended self😁😁🤗.
I nurture by learning and reading. This year alone is the most I have read books besides reading news articles from different outlets.
In an older post I mentioned my reading vice is motivation and inspirational stories. All different but feeds my mental.
Without that I couldn’t constantly adapt in the workplace and outside of it.
Next, reducing negative thoughts. This is a tough one because I know it’s so easy to harp on things when they have really struck an irritable chord. So I’m always reverting back to just think or visualize BrittanyKnows and it helps me restart my mood.
Lastly, being more greatful. I am soooo greatful I have a home that has really been the glue or major factor to spark all the creativity that I once lacked and desired for in order to make a move into entrepreneurship. And I’m also greatful for those who share bits of advice or nothingness information that turns into helpful actionable advice later.
This song popped in my head while taking a 10 mile walk.
Life is quite funny with the methods and ways it chooses to teach you life lessons. Especially with my career and entrepreneurship efforts.
But, sometimes we all just need to take a backseat and just enjoy the beautiful life ahead. Seeing what is in front of us.
I took this picture on my way returning home from work. And just thought how beautiful life is. No matter what your situation may be, still, life itself is beautiful and the more we take the time to appreciate, how simpler situations become.
I constantly have to be aware, watching, listening and it’s not easy from a business perspective because people are not always having best intentions, but that’s what happens.
Regardless, consuming myself with the what ifs or the more dimmer side of things will only make it difficult to push ahead to greater things.
I am actually most creative when walking and letting the universe speak to me. Being open minded and accepting to the habits and flow movement of nature really helps add this calming energy.
I instantly forget all the stacks of responsibilities and tasks I must complete.
That’s how life should be. Worry-free. And the more I embrace those calming times, especially as my life coach has said , it really helps create a clearer mind.
Ha, funny title huh? Well, it’s about as true as it can get.
Looked forward to a day of kayaking, even took pictures about it ahead of time. And then we made our way to Illinois State Beach Park.
Had been there once before and it had a different feel this time. The water was clear and clean with swarms of other beach goers and it was a perfect sunny day with no wind.
So we dragged our kayak to the beach to dock into the lake. No white caps, but there were high waves in the water and at times it seemed like it was pushing us in a circle. Whenever we moved like a feet we back tracked instantly.
And due to the high waves somehow as the front paddler in a tandem kayak I caused a large amount of water to accumulate behind me inside of my partner’s bag.
And the worst happened. While trying to dump out the bag of water that was sitting inside, since everything had gotten wet, the car keys went floating and rapidly sinking to the bottom.
I actually didn’t know what was going on. I was busy eating a pizza from home that all I noticed was my phone was pushed face down onto my plate and my partner dumping everything out of his pocket along with removing his belt and readying to dive.
Luckily, he caught the keys in time. I had thought for a moment the kayak would tip over, which sucks for me because I always wear a life vest and I’m not sure I would have been able to capture anything falling into the water.
So we thought, wooh, we dodged a bullet.
But, noooo way jose. The house keys sank into the water but neither of us ever saw it floating. No pictures were being taken on this crazed-filled trip.
We paddled in circles for awhile hoping to find but no luck.
And all my keys were inside the house back at home.
We called a locksmith so they could arrive at the same time as us.
But 1 missed phone call, caused a roundabout conversation with 6 people to tell us whether or not someone would be on their way or not.
We had to wait for like an hour.
We made it into the house even though we baked in the sun while waiting lol.
💡 📷 📖 …Lights, Camera, Study. 🙃yeah I know, silly, but hear my reason:
Because your 9 to 5 is just that…Being ready for any moment and ready to learn in order to advise and guide others!
Think about it. We get up, attempt to look our best, because some days we really have to try when there’s so much going on outside of work. And the moment we walk through the door we put on our office happy face. Although some people as they get older really don’t care, lol. And hey I guess I would agree with that.
But really you are putting on a face for the camera, an audience of executives, an audience of individuals you are competing against, and you have to work with in teams.
No one is exactly the same person they show at work and outside of work.
And then the kicker for Study, you have to be ready for an on the spot question or moment to answer and provide a solution either on a 1:1 or a conversation taking place in front of a bigger audience.
When I say study you are literally needing to observe and be aware of behaviors, wants and the request of many to be able to respond with the appropriate answer.
So take that food for thought. Come on guys. Two words of that motto is shared by #extratv ha. Remember, B. Styled 😋
Well, moving at the speed of light is no joke. You have all these ideas, well I do but then acting upon them at the right time is key.
However, then those ideas you find require all these additional cost related to making it come to life, protecting and ultimately selling them to potential customers.
I’m telling you there are certain steps I just didn’t know I had to account for. I guess because when you’re a small business you think with a small mindset about not needing certain items because you’re not big enough.
When in reality that is exactly why you need consultation and legal documentation to protect you in order for you to size up and not face litigation or someone stealing your brand, your ideas – preventing you from becoming bigger or scaling up.
So – here we are. Sometimes I think what if I hadn’t been saving for a rainy day, how will I fund my ideas and push forward to take a chance on me. Not sure if I could answer that because the last thing I would want to do is take out a loan, although I am sure that if all goes well I will be in need of one.
On the better side I am glad I have developed enough creativity to spark all the possible topics I could cover this year and next. It’s not easy to be creative and it’s even harder turning the crazy things I run into – into a good entertaining story or video.
After watching Lion King, which I thought a better job could have been done, I came across a challenge that Beyonce has started: #BrownSkinGirlChallenge and in a slight way reminded me of my next video I am releasing, which is all about building my confidence.
In speaking for myself and not over generalizing, it took years for me to build self confidence. From the names I was called by other students and the feeling of being the odd man left out, I began to believe those negative feelings others had towards me.
But, luckily it also pushed me to be better and work hard even when I felt like I had run out of gas and my black girl magic was on empty.
In fact, I never knew of that term until a few years when it was said on BET. I was busy trying to be like others to be accepted when I was younger when really you will never get accepted whether you conform or not, so why not – just be you?
Well, I am me. I can’t act any more black or less than I truly can. I love who I am because if we were all the same – we’d all race to find something different. So I opt to be that. Different, which helps fuel my individualism and passion for creativity.
So it’s not just a #brownskingirlchallenge it’s a #justbeyouchallenge
Be on the lookout for my next video later end of this week!
Alright, listen up! I’m not sure what happened over the past few weeks, but ever since we received all of the rain and I was still trying to determine what flowers would sprout from the property I bought in the winter time, I opted to not cut any of my flowers.
Well, that was a mistake because my yard turned into a freaking forest. I couldn’t believe it.
You would think, even though I walk in and out my house – right past the most visible area that shows the height of my grass, I would know my grass needs to be cut.
